I know I’m crappy updater for that I only post every few months, so it would be crazy to even think that I would even consider opening a new site, but I rely mainly on impulse, so I introduce to you dayum.org. I won the domain in the Twitter Namecheap contest, and I just ran with it.
I’m going back to making my own layouts again though! But right now, the site is pretty empty and boring, but I did make a new entry about Fears, in which I sound nuts, but that means you should go read it.
So what does the future hold for this site that I’ve owned for almost two years (it’s kind of funny how I’m abandoning it a few weeks before it reaches two)? I definitely know that can’t manage two sites, so I guess it’s goodbye.
I would like to thank Ellie for hosting my sporadically updated site and I’d like to thank all my frequent commenters for sticking with me.
I have no idea why I wrote that last paragraph so dramatically because you can still find me and I’m not really going anywhere. Just remember to forward your feeds to http://dayum.org/feed or this one if you’re a fan of feedburner.

You know when you were younger, and your teachers told you to use context clues when you didn’t know the meaning of words, and how you would look for the definition in the surrounding words? Well they have lead me sorely awry.
I didn’t learn until recently what the real definition of (don’t laugh!!) ‘fond’ is. I’ve, until now, always defined fond/fondly as something close to “a lot of” and now knowing the real definition, I realize (more like theorize; or I could be just stupid) that I’ve been mislead by context clues.
What are some words that you’ve confused the definition of?

I made 56 cookies for my friends today (lol, I’m cheap). I used a Tollhouse recipe, and incredibly, they turned out really good. Note: I have no experience in making anything by scratch. I also don’t have a mixer (which led me to mixing the whole by hand
) or real measuring cups/spoons.
To measure out the flour, baking soda, and salt, I just ‘eyeballed’ (Rachael Ray anybody?) it. Not really though, but there was a lot of guessing involved. I had a clear plastic cup that held 9 oz. A ‘cup’ is 8 oz. I just used a spoon for the teaspoons.
Because I’m a fool, I sifted all the ingredients. This took like 30 minutes, minus the cleanup time.
I didn’t have a hand or stand mixer, so basically all the cookies were made by hand power. I had to melt the butter so it would mix in with the sugar. As fun as this was, it left me with butterfingers (yuck).
After my sister helped me mix everything together, came the task of balling up sticky dough and then adding little perfect shaped balls onto the baking sheet. THIS WAS IMPOSSIBLE. ESPECIALLY WITH 56. OMGAH.
I did burn 1 batch (out of 7) though. I blame it on the oven. They were still finger licking tasty though.
PS. I need to try the Chewy one day!

I joined the Quilting Bee a little less then a year ago. I don’t remember why I joined (other than it just seemed really fun) but I’ve always seen the Q*Bee as something to be proud of. It’s like showing the world your fantastic quilt and really getting much more out of it.
The Q*Bee means to me a lot of things. Firstly, it’s a community! You interact when trading patches and I think it’s really rewarding meeting new people. Secondly, it’s fun. You can participate in activities and you get to pixel! Finally, it’s different. I normally don’t do the whole community thing, but this one is really special!
